Wise Point Boat Ramp

Nice boat ramp. Bathroom sucked.

This boat ramp does not allow PWCs so if you own a fishing jetski you are out of luck. There is nothing on the refuge’s website that mentions this at all. We got all the way down to the turnoff and there is a sign that says “no PWCs” so we had to go to kiptopeke instead.

During the day you can see Cape Charles Light and Smith Island

Great place to launch your boat and kayak. They have a free kayak launch just before you get to the main boat ramp. It’s well worth it just to pay the $10/ day fee. That way you don’t have to worry about low water going back to the kayak launch if you’re there for low tide.

One of the top places to launch your boat on the shore. From Wise Point, you can easily navigate to multiple fishing sites on either the Bayside, or the Seaside. Some of the better locations are: The CBBT, The Cabbage Patch, and The Concrete Ships at Kiptopeake. If you're into flounder, or Tarpon fishing with a fly rod, you want to hit the seaside barrier islands, inlets, and interior marsh areas. A good way to hit on some puppy drum is to cast a jig, or crankbait in and around any grasses you see at are the inlets and barrier islands
