The Black Hammock Marina

Beautiful area! The best kept secret boat landing around! Eagles, deer, squirrels, cranes, pheasants, turkeys, quail, tons of birds & woodpeckers, bobcats, and so much more! I love it out here!

This is a nice fairly secluded boat landing on the WI River with no posted signage. The driveway and lot are gravel. The drive may not be suitable for a long RV/trailer since it goes over the small levee and high centering is possible. I would estimate maybe stay under 25ft or so. There's other wildlife area parking areas a short drive West on Levee Rd, I believe they all have prohibiting signage. It is a narrow road though with limited areas to turn around. The access is pretty easy off Hwy 33 from the Interstate. The road noise is fairly loud since Interstate is kinda close. But it's still a nice spot. Nearby Portage has about everything one might need access to including Walmart, grocery stores, fast food and Tractor Supply etc There's also some pullout style parking further East closer to the Interstate. Swimming in the WI River is high risk due to strong currents so be very careful doing so and use personal flotation AT&T internet is alright but not great at 25Mb down and 4Mb up

Gravel ramp, but it is in an eddy so a little easier to get the boat back on the trailer. This section of the river is very shallow, so prop motors can be a problem.

I love coming out to this beautiful spot on the river. Of course it is a great location for landing your boat but it has charm beyond this. Good shore for fishing, great locale for peace seekers as well, the Pine Island Boat Landing has the Putz 5 Star rating easily! Side bar: the entrance is bumpy and peaks the levy so don't expect low profile vehicles to easily access it, if at all...

This is a very good landing for launching motorized boats, canoes, or kayaks. There is a pretty good amount of parking, but there is also parking out on Levee Road if the parking lot fills up. It can be very busy on a Summer weekend.
