7 years ago : We go here almost every year for our anniversary and spent our honeymoon at cheat lake. The marina has always been great for us. Was sad this year there were no ski boats or tubes, but we lived and enjoyed our pontoon boat anyways. Edit: we rarely go here for boating anymore. The prices and boat quality seemed to diminish each time. Now they don't even have their website anymore. And last time we went, pricing was crazy. So the following year we went to another small fishing lake in Ohio instead and rented a boat and camper/cabin for like 4-5 days for the same price it was the year before at cheat to rent just a boat for a day. Plus we were allowed dogs . Man that was great memories. We still love stopping at the lake house/Archie's for a nice dinner and view. And I'm editing this right now while I'm Hocking hills, where we rented a private treehouse house with hot tub, private stocked catch and release pond and canoe for 5 days for the price of 1 day of boating on cheat. And we pleasantly discovered lake Logan has boat rentals for a fraction of that, so we will be doing that tomorrow! Used to love cheat, it was our honeymoon spot, but Hocking hills is a little further but far more bang for buck with some of the best hiking destinations in the area.

I lived in Morgantown years ago, but never visited here. I am so happy I did on this visit. The experience of the peaceful water, bright nature and sunshine of West Virgina... I fell in love. Must visit!

Easy pontoon rental and the only one in cheat lake. I paid a bit more than expected but good experience overall. Specials not advertised. It's actually not that hard to drive a boat.
