A real horror story. My experience with SRQ Marine and Richard showing a real track record of his business operation and why no one should even consider this company. Sept. 27, 2023 I received a quote from Richard for a fuel tank replacement and a time frame of 3-4 weeks. 8 months later, over hundreds of txt and phone calls, I picked up the boat. SRQ does not accept Credit Card, nor checks as payment. Already at that point, warning bells should have been ringing. Now to the experience and interaction with Richard. I can honestly say that Richard has a natural ability to lie for any reason and at a point where it becomes embarrassing as no one will actually believe in what he is saying. Basically, over a year of lies now. I am also convinced his way of running the business, is to take money from one customer to get an older job finished. A real cash flow problem and with very little to non financial sense. On a visit to Richard's yard, their employees even told me that they hadn't been paid for weeks and other smaller jobs had been prioritized to get cash in. To get the boat done, I paid out of pocked directly to his employees. When I received the boat, we had a number of issues and unfinished business. - Never returned a Garmin Transducer I asked to be removed with Garmin Fishfinder. - Scratched up motor cover, - knocked off a part of Port engine Skeg, - Had wet sanded scratches on the hull, but never even tried to buff and polish out. The worse part is, when then they cut the floor up, they just cut through electrical wires and without even disconnecting the batteries, which among many other problems also caused the Port motor ECU to be damaged. Main wire for power to Seastar Power assist cut of. Automatic trim tab wires cut. Bilge pump wire to switch was cut. Other wires were also cut and twisted together with electrical tape. Pinched a NMEA2000 wire at a point where it shortened the NMEA2000 network. After a 8 months, sitting in Richard yard, the boat was filthy with mold and mildew on all upholstery and with an oxidized gelcoat that required a more than normal detailing job. Richard never ordered the new tank from the company he told me he would get it from, which was a well known tank company I agreed to have him use. I called this company, but they had not herd of SRQ, nor Richard. I have no clue where he got the tank from, nor what is made of, or even if they put a new tank in/fixed the old one. And this comes to my final issue. I asked for, and was promised, a detailed invoiced for the work and parts. Warranty on the labor performed by SRQ Marine and the tank manufacturer's warranty. We are now well over a year into this tank replacement job and Richard have not even managed to produce a simple paper. Cosmetically, with a poor fiberglass job and very poor gelcoat job, questionable tank swap and combined with all other issues and lack of documented work done, the boat's value has now severely been depreciated. With no other options, we are now in the process of filing a law suit against SRQ Marine and Richard which could end up in more than boat's value. With statements from x employees, other customers and an investigator, it shows Richard has a history of this practice and I refuse to become one of his victims. If you have had similar experience with SRQ Marine, feel free to reach out to me. But again, I strongly recommend not even considering SRQ Marine for any type of work you need done to your boat.

Richard and his crew did a great job! I was very happy with the results and I will definitely use them in the future.

DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE! Richard has had my boat since April. He took our $15,000 and told us that he’d get it done. After weeks of being told “2 more weeks” my husband paid him a visit. He hasn’t touched our boat. None of our parts had been ordered, even though he said that they had been. We’ve told him to give us back our money and all we keep getting is excuses. In the mean time, he has purchased himself a nice new truck and took a trip to Alaska. Richard and SRQ Marine Services are thieves and liars. They’ll just take your money. I’ve lost thousands of $ in boat rentals because he is not a man of his word. I can’t take the boat somewhere else, because Richard stole all of the $ I had to fix it.

All around good service! My boat needed the motor serviced along with a re-wire. I new the wires were old but after seeing all the corroded stuff they pulled out im anything worked at all. I thought I would have to bring the boat to a trailer shop for a new axle but richards guys were able to do that to. Picture is what I saw when I walked in. Thanks for the hard work it didn't look easy!
