Took my boat to get starter replaced And asked to check if any problems to get the boat water ready . Long story short he fixed the starter for 475$ . Just for a starter and installation on a 1988 boat . And stated he did a test run that cost me 50 $ so I’m thinking ok he did a test run I asked him when I picked it up if it had any problems of course he says no just to take it to the lake and the boat shuts off every time you give it gas or just shuts off by itself .. point is he told me the boat was ready to go and he did a test run .. what does so cal boat and trailer consider a test run ?? Charging people for a test run and they’re boat obviously doesn’t pass but you still give the boat back to the owner saying it passed everything.

Brought Dave a boat I bought not knowing it’s condition. He could’ve told me anything, but he said it was in great shape and needed a few little things. He’s done more work for me since, and I trust his work and his ethics. That’s rare!!

They have done minor and major work to my boat including head work and new exhaust manifolds, drive seals and impeller on 5.7 Merc Bravo 3. Boat runs great temp stays at 175 degrees all day. Very personable and professional. Always accommodating when I need to get the boat in on short notice. I would recommend them to anyone. Five stars for me.

I took my boat to So Cal Boat and Trailer in April 2015 and was charged almost 1100 dollars to change a shifter cable and replace a battery. He said he rebuilt my carburator but that was not true. The only thing that was done right was my shifter cable. They were suppose to go over the motor and make sure it had no loose ends. They did none of that. They left my hatch open during the rain with the plug in the boat so I had a 8 inches of water in my bilge. THEN when I brought the boat back for them to fix the problem he tells me he can touch my boat on till OCTOBER! Mind you this was right after Fourth of July. He had my boat for months! It cost me another thousand dollars just to get my boat right so I could've at least enjoy it on the tail end of summer. I'm very unhappy with this place and hopefully he makes this right....

The owner, Dave, is the most trustworthy, friendly and honest businessman I've met. He gets the job done right the first time. I would recommend to anyone needing boat or trailer service.
