Severn Yachting Center

Nice marina. Very quiet and calm. Everyone seems to know everyone else, convenient pool with loungers and tables. Temperature still comfortable at the beginning of July. Clean bathroom, shower, and laundry area. Diesel about $1.20 more a gallon than at the gas station, which is maybe a little expensive. Docks in reasonable condition.

Quiet, peaceful , very well staffed and can handle just about anything you can get up that creek.

All I can fairly rate here is that it was cozy and the people who I encountered were very friendly. We pulled over when we were out riding our Harleys, but we don't have a slip or even own a boat currently; but there was a small grassy area with a place to sit and look at the beautiful sailboats and yachts there. A friendly dog, with not only his collar but his leash :) came running down the dock, came right up to us. We walked him down the pier and met his owner who owned a boat docked there. Very friendly gent. He walked with us around a little, had a nice conversation with him and he seemed very happy with the Marina.

There is no other yard I would have work on my Amel SM. It was located there when I bought it, although we moved after a couple of years to a floating dock, we still love it there. Regarding the service, you will not find a yard that is more knowledgable, friendly or reliable. They went above and beyond during our annual haul out this year, even with TS Elsa.

I had a couple of boats at Severn Yachting Center for some time. The marina is in good shape and I like the location. It has beautiful views and is kind of tucked away off the beaten path. I rated Severn as 3 stars only because of issues I've had with the owner. The service center should be 5 stars but I can't give that to Severn as a whole and mislead. I've been gone a couple of years now but went back a few weeks ago to get bottom paint done. Yacht Haven's lift broke and they couldn't haul me in the scheduled time but Shawn and Jeff were able to squeeze me in, even though there was a huge backlog, and they got me back in the water in no time. Shawn even took the time to call and let me know that my water line had at some point been painted incorrectly and gave me the options for how to proceed, many would have just painted right over the old and never said a word.
