Quang Outboards

So glad I read the reviews about Quang Outboards. I took an old Johnson 15hp to him that had left me out in the Delta and had just plain died. He immediately gave me the pros and cons to fixing a 70's motor and he came off as someone I wanted to work on it who knew exactly what he was looking for. He jumped on it before I left and had already figued out the coil pack had died and that the compression showed some slight variation (5psi) between cylinders. I told him I wanted the motor for high mountain lake use with the once in a while Delta cruise and that I didnt want to be rowing back lol. He point blank layed out his plan that included living with the 5psi difference and its effect (slightly less power but I cant feel it and it outruns everything), a full service, a new coil pack, a new impeller, a possible carb rebuild, a possible fuel pump replacement, all while explaining why he felt each thing needed to be replaced or checked. He had some trouble getting a coil but never gave up and had one within days. He kept me updated via text and confirmed he got the parts. He had that motor fired up and purring kike a kitten. He adjusted everything and tells me to come pick it up. I arrive and the total bill is less than expected and the service there is old school. Going forward I will only use Quangs and recommend him. I'm now ready to take on the trout with a classic boat and motor due to Quangs Outboards. Dude you rock !! Go see Quangs !!

Lucky to have found Quang. After multiple online scams around outboards I was a little worried, but that quickly faded just a couple weeks after working with Quang. He is honest both in his work and his communication both before and after service. We live in Sac, but we will have no problem with the drive just to stay with Quang Outboards. 👍

This guy is great! Sent photos and videos of problems he found. Asked for approval for anything beyond the original estimate and provided some guidance on avoiding issues when I picked up the boat.

Mr. Quang is the best! Owning a boat, all you need from a mechanic is honesty, skills, and accurate price for the repair. He has everything, plus he will follow up with you to make sure your boat and outboard are good after the repair. Wish i could give more than 5 stars.

I would most definitely recommend this guy I've been going to him for more than 12 years price are reasonable and Quang is trust worthy and dedicated to his job
