Mixed feelings and lost trust. Damages to our boat equipment "it was like that, and we are not responsible for damages" motor is not fixed "it was fine here"......fast talkers, excuses, and extra charges. Disappointed in the treatment we received from office staff. It was like we were an inconvenience to them.

Pontes Marine has been hauling and caring for my boat for 15+ years. They do a tremendous job, are easy to work with and are very fair in their pricing. Rick is super easy to work with and has a wealth of knowledge that he generously shares. You can’t go wrong with Ponte’s marine!

After my luck was against me and my transmission oil cooler cracked and pumped salt water through my v-drive for a couple of weeks and over 100 miles (yes, I was a bone head to not recognize the signs, knowing now with hindsight), Rick was fabulous to help me out with his years of knowledge and proficiency working extra off-hours to fit me into his heavy schedule. He managed to repair everything without requiring the replacement of the drive, something I'm certain others may have done without consideration of pain in my wallet. Rick really went above and beyond and did so all at a very fair price! Thanks Rick (and Lydia).

I do many advanced car repairs at home, but cant do the stern drive. Rick is amazing, will work hard and smart for a fair price. I took my boat to a competitor before going to Rick’s in 2018, after the competitor worked my rear seals, the boat sank at dock on Lake Thompson. Rick described my issue ad hoc to me when it sank, after i dropped off my boat a couple years later for other issues. He was spot on with minimal facts provided. It was incredible. I thought he must be a host on the syndicated radio show Click and Clack because he was so brilliant. Rick has got to be the only truly experienced 25+ years mechanic in Maine for older stern drives?

Have been storing my boat, and having it serviced at Pontes Marine for a few years now..I love dealing with Rick and Lydia! Rick has a great reputation in the industry, and is a wealth of knowledge with anything pertaining to boats..
