Great ramp and facilities but you've got to buy a yearly permit from the city of Perryville for over $100 to launch a boat.

Honor system gone. Fines are $100 per incident for not having permit. Sold out of permit. This is a town that is run by a crooked government

Honor box now and the fine is $100. I should have checked that out before I drove 1 hour 45 minutes. Time changes everything. Thought maybe for a first time offense they would atleast give a warning or at most $25. Should have pulled the boat out of the water and found another ramp. As for all the other choice words I have I best keep them to myself, Troy

Great place to launch or just visit. There is plenty of free parking and the lot has room to move cars/ boats around. The area to launch is a little narrow but there is still plenty of room to maneuver even on crowded day. There's an honor box for launch fees. There's trash cans for typical trash and restrooms in an actual building. The area is beautiful. It's right near the top of the Chesapeake Bay on the Susquehanna.
There is a walking trail that runs from the launch into Perryville with nice views. You can walk down to Roger's Tavern (approx 1 mile away) , visit Lower Ferry Pier, have food and ice cream at Box Car and watch the trains. Good place for walking dogs with doggie cleanup stations all through the trail, including near the boat ramp.
The actual boat ramp can get busy on nice days. There are grassy areas around the ramp if you want to sit in the shade, but you'll be right under the Thomas Hatem Bridge and that can be noisy. However, it's a very nice location. It's a true boat ramp but it has the visuals of a park.
I'm not a boater but I visit the ramp often. The actual ramp is on a slope at the end of the parking lot. It's concrete. There is a small Pier along the ramp so you can enter your boat. The parking lot is paved with a handicap parking space. This isn't a marina, just a nice launch.
