Love it! No people, no services, no nothing (actually, there are toilets). Perfect ramp to land and unload boats after GC trip.

Beautiful drive from Meadview. Great road, but a pickup is better than beating up your car. Once we got to river there were people everywhere. Tour boats, rafters, river fishing boats. Loud yelling and TWO tour busses!! Take lots of water, wear comfortable shoes.

We got here accidentally just following the dirt road. You see the Colorado river as it comes out of the Grand Canyon. Absolutely quiet and devoid of human civilization. You’re seeing erosion at work in real time…Just makes you appreciate this world..

We visited West Rim on 02/22/19. It was two days after the snow fall. Canyon was closed till after 12 pm as crew were clearing up the roads. To kill our time, we went on and keep driving to next town called Meadview. There is small glass station and convenience store. We just followed road and drove to near by scenic view points. Even though there was maybe couple inches of snow, roads were pretty good. Went back to West Rim, Sky Walk, Hualapui Ranch afterwards. We were contemplating between buying tickets for guided tour and rental car. So glad that we used rental. We were able to go all places we wanted to see. Just make sure you have full tank as there are very few gas stations. Roads are all newly asphalted nearby Canyon. They have shuttle buses to take you from the parking spot to the view points. Breath taking views at the Eagle Point. We were not able to see other points because they were closed due snow. Regardless, it was absolutely amazing experience.
