Couldn't recommend this place enough. Jim got me right and worked with me with my budget with a fair price. My old merc had a bunch of gremlins and just wouldn't run right. Now it runs like a top and a good as an old motor can get. It did take some time for them to get to my motor (expected with the summertime approaching), but even so, it was about a 2 week turnaround. All in all if you need an outboard repair or tune up, Palmetto Marine is the place to go!

He usually has new parts I need for an older motor, and sometimes has used parts for my “I have 4 kids” budget. Owner works in store, and has a very knowledgeable understanding of motors, bolt on parts, boats, and what I am asking for, when I need something. It is locally owned so I would def recommend going there for parts, service, or even help finding a boat if you’re having trouble locating one. Nice guy to work w, bought all the stuff I needed to restore an ‘86 outboard, only ordered one part, out of many, everything else he had in stock. Prices are very fair, he even gave me a hydrofoil he had used for free. Nice guy who knows what he’s doing, and wants his customers to enjoy their time on the water.

I purchased a 19 foot wellcraft 190 ccf, at a almost unrefusable offer. That first weekend i sat and thought it would be better to place it in the shop for complete update. With the issues that was advised to me by the previous owner and from a seen I made a great decision. Last summer I so many problems with my sea ray I didn't want to have to fix this boat like i did with the other. From a recommendation I sought out Jim asked about simple pricing and dropped it off same day. He took his time inspecting and repairing everything I asked for and advised other thing of trouble. I had a new impeller, live well pump and bilge pump installed. Compression tested, fixed tilt and trim, new plugs, gear oil, tuner, and some obvious wiring issues. He told me I needed to drain the gas tank and replace the tank vent in the hull which I did. The gauge & sending unit didn't work so I fixed that as well plus other wiring for the navigation and radio. So I tried to start the motor which it would not start so I called Jim he pretty much walked me through it all what to test check voltage due a bad starter. I replaced it still nothing after following his recommendation I found the issue and fixed it. All in mind while he was driving home on personal time. I am grateful to his service & efforts. Also to add that I bought the boat $1000 under budget and only put into it just a little bit more what I originally was going to offer. I definitely will being using him again and high advise other do I well.

I own and operate a commercial tour boat in Charleston and recently used Palmetto Marine for some pretty extensive repairs. They were excellent. These issues included a pesky electrical issue, a major steering arm repair, and a full 300 hour service. All the work was done correctly and at budget. The guys were friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. I was very impressed, and fully recommend Jim and Palmetto Marine. Just drop your boat off and be patient. Good work at a reasonable price takes time!
