This area and Riverfront Park were part of Madame Montour's village called Otstonwakin. Later it was the Montour Reserve, deeded to Andrew Montour in the 1700's. A supply point for the explorer/agent Conrad Weiser, Iroquois Indians, French traders, and others. Sad that the county and state have erased the history or ignored it. The boat ramp is closed.

I go for the views of the river, the ability to leave the car there and no one bothers it. And access to the river. The deer. The occasional black bear... Now if someone could find a way to eradicate Japanese Knotweed!
