Beautiful spot and idyllic spot to fish

There should be vehicle access at the canoe launch. Aside from that, the area was clean and well maintained.

Lovely place to fish, swim and play! They have an easy access boat ramp designed for kayakers in mind as well as other small boats. If you travel past the railroad bridge you will meet the james river but be cautious as the rapids here are fast moving with massive rocks in certain pathways. By the boat ramp and upstream from it, the water is slower moving and very clear! There are places to sit and even picnic areas for the family. There is a trail that goes for a good distance into the woods and that allows you to access the James River from many other points upstream. Beautiful scenery all around! Alot of this area is photo worthy.

This is one of my favorite river boat ramps. It has a concrete launch ramp that makes it easy to get in or out of the water. If using a kayak, you will likely want a set of wheels for it. While I wouldn't call the ramp steep, the grade is significant. I had no problem launching or landing my kayak here. The site has port-a-potties and trash cans available. Also, it offers a large parking area. I think you will be pleasantly surprised here.
