The Lake Jacomo Non-Motorized Boat Launching Area is fantastic for anyone looking to enjoy some time on the water. The area is incredibly convenient and well-maintained, making it easy to launch your kayak or other non-motorized boats. It's also very clean and accessible, ensuring a hassle-free experience. Do note that a $30 Jackson County boat permit is required, but it's well worth it for the access you get. The horsepower limit ensures a peaceful environment, perfect for kayaking and enjoying the tranquility of the lake. Highly recommend for a serene and enjoyable day out on the water!

A nice lack to go to...not over populated...always a nice tree to sit under

I changed from 5 stars to 2 stars. This used to be a good place to launch your kayak.
Apparently, even though there are multiple clear, large "Swimming Prohibited" signs, over the past 3-4 years (post pandemic) people keep bringing their children to swim, fish, and splash IN the kayak and canoe launch.
You literally have to push your kayak off in the weeds instead of using the actual launch area because it's full of little kids and their parents doing nothing to stop it.
If you want to come back in you have to beg the parents to get their children out of the launch so that you can get out.
This isn't a new problem. All these fancy Ranger vehicles, but no one can check in and make sure people are following the rules. Lame.

Easy access to the lake, plenty of parking. Jacomo has a horse power limit so the few boats that are on the lake aren't zooming around too fast.

Super high price of $25 per day to put a kayak in the water! (non motorized) This was not for a shuttle or even a boat ramp. The exorbanent fee was for permission to launch from the grass shoreline and paddle around this little public lake. I couldnt stomach it so oped out of paddling around here and will never return. On a positive note it is a nice looking quiet little lake. No better than any of the free ones blanketing Missouri.
