Worst owner/manager I have ever met. Would not recommend to an enemy. They have ripped off several people that have also left the marina. We took our boat elsewhere to be worked on while we were still there and left as soon as our lease ended.

Poor maintaining of dredging out mud in dock areas and channel. Water level goes low and your outdrive and propeller is dragging in mud even with outdrive half way up and your engine cooling system gets clogged up with mud.

Here is a copy of a letter sent to Kings Cove over 2 weeks ago. The date it was received it was forwarded to Bill King. To date no response at all as to their inability to honor our contract. If a fair outcome is forthcoming my rating will be adjusted. **** We were in today to talk to James about our issues with getting our boat into the marina with the low water. We left Labor Day weekend and hit on our way out.The water level in channel and our slip is too low to operate our boat to navigate in or out plus run our boat in the slip. Systems that pull river water were clogging up from silt sitting in slip ( air conditioners). We paid to stay at another marina remainder of boating season and could not navigate safely back in channel by week 4 to be pulled out and stored. The cost of marina for remainder of season ($700.00) and cost to pull and store boat in Red Wing ($1058.00) are things that should have been covered by our contract that we paid for last December. We feel at least a portion of this cost should be reimbursed since we could not SAFELY get our boat back to our slip or use it in the slip.We had to run to bathouse most of the season as unable to get to a pump out. We did not duscuss a refund today with James as felt this was probably not up to him. Can you please forward this to appropriate person and let us know if we are entitled to a portion of our monies from contract for slip haul out and storage? A response by email or message would be appreciated and we think deserved after 24 years as a customer and hopefully a return customer when marina is safe for our boat to return. Beautiful location with a relatively well maintained marina. Beyond that keep your expectations low. They are by far the hardest business to get a hold of someone at that I have ever experienced. There is almost zero follow-through on any type of service that is requested. Expect to constantly call and badger if you want anything done on your boat, or want an update of any kind (they will never call you in my experience). I think complacency has run rampant here due to the guaranteed income funded by a large number of slips rented. Everyone here has always been nice and pleasant any time I've interacted with anyone. But pleasantries don't always cut it. Edit: I have found that (for some things) email can be a somewhat effective way to get in touch with them. I like the location and the marina itself. They just need to light a fire under themselves. I hope to be proven wrong and update this review in the future to a better rating. I guess time will tell.

We've been at King's Cove since 2014. We have a great slip that is close to the bath house. Our experience with the staff has always been very good. The annual dockage fees for this location are some of the best around. We really enjoy being on Lake Conley versus right on the river ; easy to get to location. The grounds are kept up nicely along with the docks. The only reason we would leave is if we decide to get out of recreational boating.
