Pat is an incredibly honest, knowledgeable, and hard workering. After damaging my fiberglass hull, he was more than accommodating and helpful for the repair--he was able to fix it that week and at a very affordable price. His work is extremely high quality and thorough. His insight and honesty are second to none. Overall, he made a miserable situation so easy and transparent. I would recommend him for any boat repair and and fiberglass work.

I left my boat at kennebec boat repairs property to be repaired trusting that it would be kept safe. Little did I know they have no security what so ever. My boat motor was stolen from this property and the owner has made it clear that he has zero accountability for anyone’s boat while it sits on his property. I don’t think this guy is a bad person whatsoever, but I do think that he lacks severely in the importance of other peoples property. So anyone that’s dropping off a expensive boat here I would suggest that you look elsewhere because if your boat or anything on it or in it gets stolen he has no security at all and is not accountable at all.

The other two reviews posted on Google led us to believe that this was an honest place of business. Unfortunately, we have a different perspective of Kennebec Boat Repair.
We brought a boat and trailer in to be worked on. We were mostly concerned about the trailer being ready for a long road trip of nearly 1,000 miles. We were impressed with how approachable the staff was when speaking to them about our boat and trailer. We specifically requested that they check the ball bearings and tires to make sure that the trailer would be able to sustain the trip. The owner deflected most of the boat and trailer maintenance for the mechanic to take care of as the owner takes care of fiberglass repairs. We were told that they made a few adjustments on the motor and that it was running great. We were also told that the ball bearings were in good shape and they repacked them with grease. Total bill was $150.
When we picked up the trailer, we noticed some issues with it that were overlooked. There were no caps/bearing buddies on the trailer wheels. and the rusted out coupler was fitting loosely over the ball hitch. The owner also seemed to be surprised that those issues were not resolved or addressed. He suggested we bring it back the following Monday to get it taken care of.
When we brought the boat and trailer back, we bought a new winch and coupler to be installed. They were installed correctly and a new safety chain was added. Buddy bearing caps were placed on the wheels. Total bill for this was $379!
We made the trip home and have since taken the boat and trailer to a qualified mechanic that we know and trust. He is completely unsure as to how $500 worth of work was done to either the boat or trailer. He double checked the ball bearings and said they were in terrible condition, not repacked with grease, and that we were lucky to make it back home without a major incident. If the bearings were allegedly checked out as they should have been, this should have been noticed right away!
We are furious that we paid $500 for work that was not done.
We are also disappointed that Kennebec Boat Repair did not consider our safety when making the expected repairs to the boat trailer. If you want honest work, DO NOT use this business!

Found this place after getting tired of Mid-Maine Marine's expensive and subpar service. Pat is a great guy, very honest and does great work. Hit a rock last summer and he thoroughly checked it out: the rod, lower unit, everything--said I just needed a new prop (which wasn't a surprise). Flexible with drop-offs and pick up and turns stuff around quick for a fair price.

Pat does excellent work; he takes pride in his work. He's "honest as the day is long". His shop is a jewel in the Belgrade Lakes area. I recommend highly for any work needed for your fiberglass boat!
