Harley Ensign Memorial - Boating Access Site

Good fishing & usually not busy. Nice place to see the sun rise.

Probably the best "dark skies" location on what I would call "the East side of Detroit". Fantastic place to enjoy Sunrises, Sunsets, and night sky scenery. Very beautiful location this way. Sadly, they decided to nearly deforest the incredible lakeside peninsula a few years ago and the place has lost a lot of spirit. Much of the wildlife has disappeared and the trail is fairly empty. Used to be a much better area for birdwatching. But the fishing, the lakeviews, and the skywatching here are wonderful! And a short trip for anyone living in the eastern suburbs.

Excellent area for viewing Lake St Clair. The park is located right at opening of the Clinton River. It's a spectacular site. Not only for watching the boats go by but also just to take in some sunshine and bird watching, fishing, or launching your watercraft. Has a small trail to walk. We didn't take it though as it was getting dark out and the bugs were coming out. It's the home of the Macomb Sheriff Marine Patrol. It's like being at a point. We had gone there to take pictures of the Blue Moon which actually turned out to be more of orange moon. It was really cool and we had a great view to take pictures as the moon came up at sunset. (See attached pictures courtesy of Keith Goodwin-Home n Drones Photography) The parking lot was full of cars of people just coming to see the moon raise and the moon didn't disappoint. The area is a great place to chill and just be by the water and take it all in. Well be posting more pics as they become available It's pass free park with plenty of parking, truck and watercraft trailer parking. Handicap parking. No restrooms though. Great place for a picnic by the shore...

OMG, I never even new this place existed! IT IS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! Great place to launch from, hang out, walking trail, fishing etc.

Beautiful place to access Lake St. Clair. They also have docks/decks for boat launch. Many people even fish from the edge but too many rocks and hook gets caught alot. The walking trails are also nice.
