given shawn a star is way to nice.asked about trading a motor and was told he didnt need anymore anchors.and said come back in the soring the moter he has might be ready.well hope fully he get treat the same way he treats people.as in going to trade his pick up for new and they tell him to take a hike they have pickups already same way he treat potential buyers.lost any and all business from me and my brother

If I could rate this place negative stars, I would. Called a week ahead get our boat in from 4 hours away. When my husband & I got there to drop it off, apparently no one wrote down that we were coming. Was quoted a price for parts/labor & told about 2 weeks to get the parts in & repairs done. Our boat ended up being there for a month a half. They would not return calls, could never talk to a tech when we called. And then the final bill came...which was 2k OVER what we were quoted!!! Was given the excuse that the person who quoted us didn't know what they were talking about. How unprofessional! And to top it all off, a seal ripped due to a clamp being put on too tight not even a month after we got the boat back. Called to ask about getting it fixed & surprise, this place is not being helpful at all. Absolutely horrible customer service. Will never recommend this place to one single person.

I have been belittled by the owner multiple times. Today I went in and was possibly given a bad prop. I was trying to learn the situation and was nervous about going in from past run-ins. The owner berated me as expected. I finally stood up for myself. It wasn't that I was hostile; the owner was about to freak. The techs are great people. Their boss is narcissistic and knows nothing about customer service, just dollar signs. I was forced out of the building. I was calm but upset. A tech walked me out with a heart. I believe for my safety from the owner. They also overpriced their engines by a few thousand. The owner does not know his products; for example, I had to go to another retailer to get my alumacraft hours away. The owner didn't believe me that there is a15" transom in that model 1648mv again, he was short-tempered. I have never been spoken to like that until I met this business. I will not be going back and encourage you to look elsewhere or find out the hard way.

We were out fishing walleye opener and ended up having a bit of boat trouble. They hooked us up with a replacement part and we attempted to change the part out in the parking lot. The owner of Great Lakes Marine saw us struggling to get this part changed out and came out and helped us. He was extremely nice and fun to talk with. Good personal experiences go a long way. We would highly recommend this business.

Recently purchased a boat from Steve at Great Lakes Marine. First we emailed back and forth and he was great to answer all my questions as I had a 4 hour drive to come down and see the boat. When we did make the drive down, he was very helpful. No pressure. They had a nice selection of good boats. If I were in the market for another boat, I would not hesitate to buy one here again and would recommend them to friends or family.
