Glen Wilton Boat Ramp

Great Canoe/kayak access. We put in on the Cow Pasture River and took out at the Glen Wilton access. Kayaked down the Cow Pasture and then up the Jackson River into the head of the James River to be able to say we kayaked three rivers in one trip and never got out of the kayak.

Decent parking. Every year, it gets better. They keep making improvements.

Decent boat ramp at mile 4 of the James River. The actual ramp is not improved like other ramps on this river - it's unpaved) . It's easy to access with ample parking as well. And there are places to drag your boat to anchor it to get out of the way if it's a busy day. There are no other facilities at this site. We started here for a 7-mile float down to the Gala ramp.

Beautiful, quiet, and not far from Gala, (not even a country block!). Grab a slice of pizza and a sixer from Kelly's on your way up. Then, spend the rest of the day on the James River! Campgrounds are conveniently located, for those of us who need more than a day on the river.

This is a easy access to launch your kayaks and canoes for either a short float or some relaxing fishing. The near access from 220 is ideal. The parking lot is well marked with an open turn around for those pulling trailers.
