Durham Boat Launch

Only been here to fish but there are a lot of fish especially carp

It's not crowded this time of year. It would be nice if it could be expanded to include a park/picnic area, and nature trails or fishing piers along the marsh so people without boats can enjoy the water front. Idle Isle on the other lake is so small.

Went kayaking here. Small narrow weedy channel to peddle through to get to the lake. Very shallow and weedy. Looks like it would be great fishing.

I'd caution anyone with a power boat looking to come here. Satellite images show a dock at the launch, however the dock is no longer there. Tons of seaweed and lilly pads. I had a strong head wind when trying to leave the channel that made things very difficult. This may be better suited for canoes and kayaks. Even still it's a tough lake for a novice like myself.

Really steep, slippery ramp...made even worse by some old guy who apparently just hangs out by the ramp all day being a complete jack ass, threatening tickets to everyone who comes by, like he's the dnr.
