Cox Ferry Lake Landing

Great kayak launch- No kayaks for rent there but we went with Myrtle Beach Paddle Board and Kayak Adventures who operate private guided tours there! GREAT EXPERIENCE!!

Please get the wasp nests off the docks. Both sides have a nest, and there's at least 20 wasps on each nest. It's hard to fish in peace when that's 5 feet away from you.

Great place to go kayaking. If you don't have your own kayak I recommend a 2 hour kayak tour for $45.00 from Black River Outdoors Center. Take your camera/phone to remember the beautiful river landscapes.

An amazing place to hang out! Went with a few friends the other day and this place is huge with plenty of nature diversity. We found several different mushrooms, mossy patches, and dozens and dozens of trees. The picnic area was well kept, my main complaint though is that there were no water fountains/communal igloo water dispensers. Many trees had coloured diamonds to help keep you on track, (the trails you follow are named after colours) and some even had directional arrows to keep you from getting lost on circular paths. It's very shady which is nice to keep you from over heating. One trail we walked had several fresh bear dung piles though so keep mind and be safe regarding that, especially when going with smaller children. It should be said the we never personally encountered a bear but the piles definitely belonged to bears. Overall 95/100! :)

Beautiful park with a dock and kayak launch. You have tote your kayak maybe 500 feet or so from the parking lot to the river. There's a resident alligator that is kind of shy so you only see him from a distance on the little lake. The river current can be strong here when the level is high and the tide is flowing, but there is plenty of off river space to cruise around. There's a nice walking trail and a boardwalk through a piece of the swamp. The parking lot is unpaved but smooth and well maintained.
