Colonial Beach Boat Ramp

Stopped for a few hours with the kids. They absolutely loved it! I loved how far we could safely walk out too. There was unfortunately quite a bit of trash floating around in the water and people riding jet skis seemed to think it was a great idea to ride up to where a bunch of us were swimming and playing! That wasn't safe at all! Bring water shoes! Lots of rocks and broken crab shells.

Colonial Beach is a quaint resort town...Beach was not very busy but there was some swimming being done.

It's not a bad place to go, but could be cleaner. My friend and I needed a girlfriend day badly, so I suggested this because it's close to home, plenty of places to eat on the way, and a winery nearby to boot!! Don't wear a white or light colored bathing suit if you want it to stay that color.

We spent the day at the beach, very relaxing. The water temperature was nice. We took in the sites, ate dinner, and went for a walk on the pier. Great day, we'll go back for sure. Maybe check out the town a little more.

This was my first visit to this community boat ramp and it was awesome. The community is tight knit and I believe the residents looks after the ramp (I observed people watching) and the community as a whole, per as they should. Small old town feel and I enjoyed my visit. Don't come being foolish and irresponsible for I believe you will be checked quickly, as for the very reason I will be back because I felt safe with my vehicle being left behind as I went boating.
