I am launching my boat after being on hard for several years and have hauled it to Clarks for final prep and commissioning. They could not be more helpful, knowledgeable and user friendly. Unlike some other yards, this yard is not pretentious, snobby or exorbitant and I have had no issue doing the minor projects that I wanted to do myself. The common goal appears to be to get the boat in the water so the fun can begin. Other yards work at their own pace and schedule and make you feel like they are doing you a favor. Also, other folks are in the yard getting their boats ready and it is a friendly and helpful lot. This is the place for the recreational boater or cruiser. Thank you.

"A superb yard, staffed with knowledgeable, honest people. They combine efficiency, quality of service and responsiveness in a way that I have never experienced with any other yard. Whatever the issue, it’s never a problem for these folks. And to top it off, everyone I’ve dealt with at Clark Boat Yard is incredibly friendly and pleasant to deal with; you feel like you are with family. I moor my boat in Newport harbor, but I make a point of sailing across the East Passage to Jamestown to store my boat and to have work done on it. I cannot recommend Clark Boat Yard strongly enough." -United Kingdom

Charged my credit card without going over things and that's just the beginning. The woman in the office is rude and the place is a total dump. I doubt any of the positive reviews were written by the actual customers if they even exist. If you've ever wondered what happens to a neglected business run by incompetent and impolite people then look no further than this dung heap. If this place was a fraction as good as the amount of money they charged without authorization they would be doing something.
I got into an argument with the woman who seems to be in charge of everything over an engine I didn't even have on my boat but was charged for 'service'. Awful people awful place. Don't believe a word of the hype or better yet - if you live in the area just take a drive thru. I nearly lost my suspension trying to deal with the potholes on their 'driveway'. To the positive reviewers- shame on you

Looked at a boat at Clark's that was for sale by a private owner. The work the owner undertook was far over his head and beyond his ability. Bottom line, Sara and Gary Clark helped broker an arrangement, the vessel was not destroyed for scrap, I am salvaging and refitting the sloop, in my family tradition. I know that when the vessel is completed, it will make the Clark family proud. The Clark Boat Works is like being home for me, in that Dyer tradition, do it once do it right! "If you don't go here your nuts!" You can quote me!
