I thought that I had I really challenged Carl and his team at CC Marine (Scott and Daniel) with an engine replacement project. The boat is a custom-custom wooden boat that had an old Perkins A108 installed prior to placing the boat's topsides. This meant that not only did CC Marine have to dismantle the old Perkins to get it out, they also had do dismantle the and then reconstruct the new Volvo Penta D2-50! They pulled it off smooth as silk. Carl said it would take about 14 days, it took 10 days. The job was well staffed every day, start to finish. They gave me a fair estimate, then came in a bit below. He had good ideas for upgrades, but never any pressure, just smart, mechanical suggestions. These guys love their work and it shows, never a whiny excuse, not one mistake. The boat Rain Bear has been published in Wooden Boat magazine and was built to the highest standards, which CC Marine met and exceeded. Thank you CC Marine, John Cordic

These guys are truly unbelievable. They can’t handle making an appointment within a 6 week time frame. They don’t know how emails work. Takes 6 weeks to make a service orders they lied about making when you first contact them. Can’t get it together, can’t take accountability. Don’t bother putting your whole boat in the hands of these incompetent children.

I had my boat in MDR for a little over a year and used CC marine for maintenance and mechanical issues. They seemed ok until the last couple months. I needed a Davitt system installed and inquired with CC about this service. I made multiple phone calls and email inquiries and was basically ignored. I went ahead and scheduled CC for the annual maintenance which they performed finally 2-3 weeks later than scheduled . But what initiated this negative review. We took the boat out to Catalina and had some mechanical issues, we returned to port. The next day I visited CC marine and was told by Rodrigo the service adviser that they would look at it that week. This never happened , So I called and was assured by Rodrigo that they would give me a quote order the part . Again this never happened. Again emails and unreturned phone calls. After about another week I finally got ahold of Rodrigo and asked him about the repair . He was rude on the phone and made several untrue statements. I moved my broken boat 37 miles to Oxnard for repairs. Terrible customer service at CC Marine

Carl and the team at cc are great. We’ve had our Cummins/Zeus Pod boat serviced there over the past several years. Every service call was handled professionally by their excellent staff.

Nice guys and pleasant to work with. But i bought a brand new outboard from them that was honestly a piece of junk. Never started properly. Would constantly flood the carb, but if u dont pull choke then it wouldnt start. Choking and starting then pushing choke back in would result in shutoff. Had to take out the spark and have it dry almost every single pull. Brought it in to have them look at it and they kept telling me it was fine and that the smaller outboards are finicky and this is just what it is. To this day two years later its been junk. I just personally replaced the carb and now it is literally perfect. Wish they had just done that from the start. Also, mercury warranty is dogshi, which isnt the dealers fault. But they do not replace carbs under warranty even if the motor is 1 day in ur ownership. The original brand new carb had bad gaskets, clogged main jet and a slightly faulty float. Some good news is that now I am an expert on disassembling and reassembling carb and related parts as I did it 30 times in the past two years trying to get this to work. The guys here seem honest though, so my recommendation is to bring a dinghy and test the motor out in the water if u can prior to taking it home. Run it, turn off motor, turn on. Test everything. Especially if its the smaller outboards (2.5hp-6).
