Cartersville VDWR Boat Ramp

I love this country!

We float from Columbia to Cartersville a couple times a year. The Cartersville boat ramp has plenty of room to park, no matter if your in a car or truck/trailer. Very easy to get in and out of the water here

Good place to come fishing

Just took the grandkids by to see the river.

This boat ramp is really steep but in good condition with anti-skid grooves the whole way down. I put my kayak in here on a weekday morning and there was no one else there. The current is moderately strong even with the river level less than 3 feet. The bottom here is covered in rocks with some breaking the surface. It's really pretty but it took me an hour to go a mile or so upstream. Definitely only go downstream if you are having someone pick you up at a downstream landing. I included a picture of the old bridge where the rock piling is falling down. It's quite a picturesque ruin from the river.
