The worst “WORST” excuse for a boat mechanic I have ever used!! First tells me the carbs need rebuilt, for $420. For a 50hp outboard. Told me the starter had to be taken off to pull the carbs. LIE #1. After telling him the carbs were already rebuilt, he tells me he would check the spark. Surprise, now it’s a spark issue. He guaranteed a new stator would fix it. He replaced the stator and shockingly it wasn’t fixed. LIE #2. Oh, now it’s the timer plate under the stator. MORE money!! A week later, still not working. LIE #3. So, now it’s a cracked coil pack. Three days later, nope, not working. LIE#4. Well now it’s the brand new switch was wired wrong. $120 more to rewire. Go to pick up the boat. $1,700 later, I bring it home to find out he sure did rewire my switch! Kill switch disconnected. Key on/off wire disconnected. What kind of mechanic will disconnect an emergency kill switch AND make it where you can’t turn your motor off?!?! Oh, he tells me “you told me you wanted your boat to run. You can just push in the choke until the motor shuts off”. This guy is a joke!! Nothing wrong with stator, no cracks in coil pack, $1,700 to have him rewire my switch incorrectly! STAY AWAY!!!!!
