Convenient and well-run Marina. The owner Frank was available, hospitable and very helpful. We draw 3.8’ and had no problem thru the channel. Power worked well.

Best fried shrimp on the planet. Frank and Edna are the best. We sail to Orcacoke every couple years and always stop at the Big Trout for the night.

Food delicious, good place to eat if not in rush. Harbor front outdoor tables available. Probably not for elite food snobs, but we enjoyed it!

Great. Place to eat. Best seafood, fried chicken ,and cheeseburger you will ever find. My husband eats there every day they are open.the joking atmosphere is awsome a spot you would hate to miss on 264 on the way to the outer banks! The frank and edna show! Awsome people. U don't want to miss lunch with them. U can get big trout on your plate every mon thru fri.

We stopped in here after the drive from Manteo in a driving cold rain and found the place jammed with fishermen and families, including a venerable old gal the lady behind the counter referred to as "Grandma." We squeezed in at the counter and watched the proprietor bread and fry fish and hushpuppies and serve up green beans and fried okra while bantering good-naturedly with his wife who was sweating over the register and trying to keep up with orders. Teeming with local color, this place is totally worth the trip off the beaten path. We look forward to visiting again on our boat! The green beans are canned, as expected, and the okra was frozen, but everything was hot and fresh and lovingly prepared and the iced tea came in a pitcher. They even had unsweetened ready-made for us Yankees. For a taste of the old South, Downeast, this place can't be beat! And the view of the docks and marsh, complete with seagulls and pelicans, adds flavor. If you want to rub elbows with the locals out here, this is your place.
