Got my boat serviced here for fuel hose related issues. Next time I’m at the lake trying to launch my boat I’m having an unreal time getting it to start….. runs a battery completely empty trying to fire the boat up. I go to o’rielly and buy a new battery. Finally get the boat to start but it’s now has a new horrible sound. I back it off the trailer and try to rev the motor and it’s in limp mode it seems. I take the motor case off and 2/4 of my spark plug wires have been ripped off from the coil pack. The wires are frayed from where they were forcibly ripped off. I also notice one of the cylinders that wasn’t affected by this mauling of the wires that the spark plug is literally not even installed. I was effectively trying to start the boat on one cylinder because these asshats broke two coil plugs intentionally and removed a plug and left it unplugged when their only duty was to fix a fuel hose. What a nightmare you guys have caused for me. I knew I should have just fixed it myself.

What an incredible experience. I have a 90 hp Yamaha 2-stroke on my Sea Pro SV1700CC and it had a sporadic issue after short WOT runs. I assumed it needed a Carburetor rebuild and dropped it off with Garland. A few days later, I received a call and was told that he couldn't find any obvious issue and since it was sporadic, it was not possible to replicate. Garland explained to me in great detail what the next steps are and told me to lake test the motor by isolating the obvious issue with an external fuel source. It turned out that I had water in my tank and after draining and refilling, all is well again. I can't thank John and Garland enough for this honest transaction. Big Daddy's will be my boat mechanic of choice for years to come.

Great experience! There was about a month wait for an appointment but no problem. Brought the boat in as scheduled on a Tuesday and had it back by Friday. Optimax is about 17 years old and also no problem. Other 'popular' repair shops won't even look at a motor over 10 years old. Garland explained e erything to me and is a very cool dude. I will be using them for all my boat repairs from here on out.

Big Daddy's Boat Repair did me right. I'm a first time boat owner and took my "new" 2002 Triton 19 SF with a Mercury 200 EFI in for a full tune up and service. Compression tested 110 down the left and 115, 115, 120 down the right. I asked for new plugs and impeller. They decarbonized the motor, increased the idle speed (this was causing trouble with the motor turning over without giving it throttle), fully serviced the lower unit. Then one of the techs gave me a FULL walk through of everything on the boat and answered every question I had about literally everything. From switches, to fuses, batteries, oil maintenance, alarms, electrical, battery wiring, charging, and how to recognize and handle some odd issues that can arise. Gave me advice on how often to get it checked out and even how to drive it to achieve maximum RPM and speed as well as some key safety issues I hadn't thought of. They've earned my business for as long as I'm a boat owner.
