After more than a decade of camping here, I'm so pleased that this location has returned to a tent-only, primitive camping experience. lt's still one of the greatest locations in Florida for a short walk to the beach and a bay view of the sunset. Kudos to the staff as well who continue to juggle a great deal and still be cordial, helpful, and full of energy! Wish I were there for the season!

What a hidden gem! While out and about, my husband pulled in out of curiosity, and we were pleasantly surprised. Tucked away off the main road, it was peaceful and quiet with plenty of parking and a charming little primitive camping area.
Inside, there’s a small convenience store selling bait and other essentials. The wraparound porch offers cozy seating with a view of the docks and boats by the water. There are plenty of rentals available, the staff is friendly, and the bathrooms were clean.
We did not stay here, this review was based solely on just stopping by to check things out.

I think the name of the company, Attitude Fishing, is very appropriate, because the captain, Eric Metcalf, has an attitude, in my opinion. My wife and I went out yesterday with Eric for a half day fishing trip in the Atlantic Ocean. Deep sea fishing was a new adventure for us. Everything was new for us. The boat was not that big, a 25 footer. Halfway through the expedition, Eric lost composure. He said we were getting in his way. He said he told us where to stand and where not to so he could do his job and every 5 minutes we were again in his way. He said if we wanted he would go back to shore and we could finish the trip on the boat by ourselves. I told him we were novices and it was not clear to us where we should and should not be standing. At the end of the trip, I asked him what I owed him. He previously quoted me $450 total for the trip, but changed it to $500 when we disembarked. You don't treat customers this way. We will never use him again. Michael Polites, PhD

Great place to camp and fish. Also, great people that run the place.

Awesome primitive camping location right on the river. Our campsite #1 was close to the water and bathrooms. Boat ramp was perfect for launching our Hobie 16 sailboat. Lots of exploring on the water. Saw dolphins everyday along with turtles, stingrays, osprey and watch out for those raccoons!
Mike was very nice and helpful. We stayed 3 nights in February and the temperature was perfect at night in the 60s. Lots of noseums bugs so be prepared for that.
We will be returning again in the fall. Highly recommend.
