My boat repair place. They're good!

I read some reviews about integrity,after some time I found this not to be so.My worst experience was on a honda outboard.He gave me some bad advice that it would be cheaper to repair it than replace it 2 months go by no word so I call.He said he had been busy.Yo make along story short,after a long period of him ducking my calls and 7 months and 3 weeks later he says it's ready it cost about $2800 and still not running right.Itook it back and he tells me Russell said it has old gas in it Itold him I replaced the tank lines filter and gas before I ran it He said that Russelsaid it had bad gas and he had no reason not to believe him.They cleaned the carb again and it was still not running right.Took it back again this time they say it need the carbs rebuilt which they rebuilt only a month earlier. I think 7 months and 3 weeks to do a poor job and then 6 weeks every trip after that three times and still not get it right is unacceptable I had other episodes not much different with them also.But the last time when he got mad and started yelling at me was the final straw. He is also bad about doing work yo didn't authorize....Integrity? I don't think so

Danny helped me out with an older outboard that I have. Needed a prop replacement after some research and searching he was able to find me a new prop at a great price! Definitely recommend Atkins Motors for your small engine needs.

Brought my EZGO golf cart to Atkins in October 2021. They sent it off to multiple other shops (motor rebuild, starter rebuild, brakes and lug repair etc), minimal work seems to have been done at Atkins shop. In 7 months they had my cart I got ONE call for an update from them, after multiple time I was told I’d get a call for updates weekly. They’re communication is horrible or nonexistent. Got a call Friday that they had reached a dead end, can’t fix the cart or even figure out what is wrong. Yet charged $2,000+ for the “work” that was done. Oh and by the way the cart won’t even start anymore. It would at least run before I took it to them. I’m not one to write negative reviews but to anyone thinking of using Atkins for they repair services, DON’T! Find someone who will do the work in-house, instead of out sourcing everything!

Danny has always worked well to get and keep our boat running. I understand there are times when we’ve tried the easy fix first before jumping in on the big expensive stuff but I actually appreciate that. Sometimes there are issues that are hard to pinpoint when it only happens occasionally. But the bottom line is he has always come through and got it done.
